Earlier this year The Indies announced awards for independent artists who released their work in 2019. Nominations have now been announced in 17 categories.
Mumbai based Blues Rock band Blackstratblues bagged 8 nominations for their album When it's Time, while Kochi based Rock band Thaikkudam Bridge wins nominations in 6 categories for their sophomore album Namah.
Lifafa, Parekh & Singh, Peter Cat Recording Company, Prabh Deep, Sid Sriram and Swadesi are also in the reckoning for the Artist of the Year award.
Entries in genres such as pop, rock, metal, hip-hop, electronic or dance music, folk fusion, and sub-genres such as folk rock, prog rock, and so on were considered for the nominations.
