Motherjane was one of the first bands to start fusing rock with influences from the vast soundscapes of India. Thus creating an original sound for themselves.  They have two studio albums under their belt. The first album 'Insane biography' released in 2002 is still regarded as one of the most influential records in indian rock. Their second offering 'Maktub' in 2008 gave a clear niche to the band and made everyone sit up and take notice.
